UAB engaged BPA to conduct a feasibility study for a new Graduate Medical Education (GME) Student Wellness Center on Level Two of the West Pavilion Hospital. Formerly housing a library, computer labs, and offices, the area was reimagined as a restorative, multifunctional hub for students and staff.

The study proposed six program zones—reception, work/study, hospitality, activity, quiet, and meeting—designed to balance function, comfort, and flexibility within a unified floor plan. Our plan outlined the vision, programming, and cost estimates for construction, furnishings, and professional services, resulting in a blueprint for a wellness-focused space dedicated to UAB’s graduate medical community.
