Birchfield Penuel Architects is seeking an experienced Interior Designer to join our team.   

Interior Designer Role Responsibilities: 

  • Contribute to the functional planning and aesthetic of design concepts

  • Execute space planning for code-compliant interior layouts

  • Exhibit general understanding of constructability and detailing

  • Produce design and construction documents, including specifications, for a variety of project types

  • Review shop drawings for design adherence and compliance

  • Work both autonomously and in a team setting

  • Manage multiple activities on varying projects at any given time

  • Follow through to meet project schedules and timelines set up by the client and project managers

  • Coordinate with clients, vendors, and other design professionals

  • Interact with clients and user groups during meetings and design presentations

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from an accredited Interior Design program

  • State of AL registration preferred

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Commercial Interior Designer

  • Proficiency in using Revit and AutoCAD software to produce design and construction documents

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Salaried position with expectation of a 40-hour minimum work week

Bonus Qualifications: 

  • Experience with Healthcare, Institutional, or Governmental clients

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
